Tiyende Pamodzi 28 Cyclists Hit Chitipa For Mw Tourism Exploration

The Tiyende Pamodzi 28 cycling trio arrived in the most tip of the country, Chitipa district yesterday, marking 2236 kilometers of cycling to explore the beauty of the all 28 districts of the country and expose them to the global world.

One of the cyclists Stewart Kambewa has told Zodiak this morning that "we are in Mzuzu having started our journey on 3 October and we hope to finish on 27 October, it's a 25 day tour and now we are on day 18."

Kambewa and his two cyclists, Vincent Khoswe and Wilson William in collaboration with Adventures with Colby Expedition Company hopes to highlight the sense of freedom of exploration and adventure that Malawi offers.

Kambewa added that they are boarding the Illa vessel today to explore Likoma Island. "Everywhere we we go, we are met with kindness, cementing the notion that Malawi is the Warm Heart of Africa.

He believes the adventure will tip the world to see Malawi as a tourism destination and generate forex. Their adventure is also on Stewart The Cyclist and The Biking Freeman.

In his experience, Vincent Khoswe said that "Our progress has been steady; we have covered 20 districts, including Chiradzulu, Phalombe, Mulanje, Thyolo, Chikwawa, Nsanje, Mwanza, Neno, Balaka, Ntcheu, Dedza, Lilongwe, Mchinji, Dowa, Ntchisi, Kasungu, Mzimba, Rumphi, Karonga and Chitipa totaling a distance of 2236 km."

To mark our presence in each district, we visit the district council and take photos in front of their offices.

The feedback has been encouraging; people have generously offered us space in their backyards to set up our tents as we camp along the journey.

For example, WaPraise Lodge in Area 49, Lilongwe, provided us with accommodation and meals during our stay in the capital city. Frazer Chayang'ana, a nurse at Mchinji Hospital, hosted us while we were in Mchinji. Leah Chirambo who works with MRA bought us lunch in Dedza. In Thyolo, the Kamanga's provided us with accommodation and meals. These are just a few of the many who have supported us.

We named our tour Tiyende Pamodzi 28 to capture and share our experiences as we cycle, sharing them on our social media channels, Stewart The Cyclist and The Biking Freeman.
