Lilongwe, Malawi– Lilongwe-based Creck Sporting Club has put plans to use the Lilongwe Community Centre ground on hold, citing the delayed start of rehabilitation works at the venue.
The ground, which had been earmarked as the club’s home base for the remainder of the season, is currently deemed unfit to host high-profile matches.
Kandiwo confirmed that the club is still engaging with the contractor responsible for the project, while also exploring alternative options to allow rehabilitation to commence smoothly.
“We’re still in talks with the contractor and also looking for an alternative training ground to pave the way for the works. If all goes well, we expect renovations to start in about a month,” he added.
With only a few weeks left before the end of the first round, Mtaya revealed that the club has made a decision to defer use of the facility to next year.
“At this stage, we feel it’s better to shift our focus to next year so that the renovations can be done thoroughly and without pressure,” he explained.
